I’ve been pondering on this for a while…..

There was a beautiful, gentle autumn light on the evening I took this photograph. It was so peaceful and made me think how special it is to share our corner of Cumbria with guests who travel our way and pause for a while.

I’d been pondering on how we need to be kinder to ourselves…..

……. take a short break, pause and find a quiet space in the business of life. The phrase that has been coined for this idea is Wellness Breaks, including a spa, yoga, meditation and so on. We don’t offer all those added extras and I’m not pretending to be something we’re not, but we are a quiet space with a very simple and personal approach to this kind of theme. My extra little note at the bottom of the page may resonate with you.

Do you need a short break, a respite from everyday life, a quiet retreat?

At Tythebarn House we have one guest room for up to two guests. It’s on the ground floor of our converted barn in a mini-apartment with a bathroom (shower over bath), hall and kitchenette.

The house is peaceful and quiet, with no noisy children or pets.

Guests have their own little kitchen with everything needed to cook up a simple meal or snack. Breakfast can be a simple ‘Breakfast on a Tray’ brought to your room at a time that suites. Take a look at our breakfast options here.

There’s always a good supply of books to read if snuggling up in a fluffy robe and having a ‘duvet day’ is your way.

The canal tow path is a short distance from our front door, a delightful easy walk for those you love to be outside in nature.

A personal note that may resonate as you read:

With personal experience of chronic fatigue I understand the necessity for quiet and calm in the midst of chronic illness. Please get in touch if a short break with us here at Tythebarn House is exactly what you are looking for to help in your journey. If a listening ear is something that would help, I’m very happy to lend mine and sit awhile with you during your stay.
