Not so far from Tythebarn House is Holmepark Fell, or is it Newbiggin Crags, I’m never quite sure where one ends and the other begins. Either way it’s a beautiful walk on a crisp, snowy, winter’s day.
It’s there you’ll find the sheep in almost perfectly-parted coats.
Views, stretching out across county borders.
Trees, almost startling in their artistry.
Stone walls, textured and touchable.
Wind swept shrubs, shaped by wilder weather.
Reminding us that it’s time to turn back home to Holme, stamp the snow off our boots and put the kettle on. “Are there any scones?”, I hear Vic say.
All on our doorstep here at Tythebarn House
And there’s more.
