Breakfast at Tythebarn House B&B

Breakfast is something special at Tythebarn House B&B.   There’s local produce on the menu along with Diana’s home-baked bread and preserves made with fruit from the allotment.

There are usually three choices when it comes to booking your breakfast.

  • Bed and Break – catering for yourself in your own kitchenette.
  • Breakfast on a Tray – a lighter breakfast. Served in your room 7.00 – 10.00 am.
    Suitable for vegetarians.
  • Full-English Breakfast.*  Served upstairs in our breakfast room 8.00 – 9.30 am. A choice is available for vegetarians. 

*There may be times when Full-English Breakfast is not available. Please check on our on-line booking system or give Diana a call on 01524 781397.

Summer or winter, light breakfast or full breakfast. there is  always something really good to start the day.  Seeing is believing, so here goes….

HOME-MADE CRUNCHY GRANOLA

Crunchy deliciousness, with thick and creamy yoghurt.  One spoonful is never quite enough.

PROPER PORRIDGE

Made the old-fashioned way with oatmeal soaked overnight, cooked up to a creamy softness and served in our ‘Goldilock’s Bowls .

FRESH FRUIT

Maybe home-grown strawberries or raspberries from ‘Lottie’, depending on the season.

STONE-BAKED BREAKFAST

A family recipe appears too.  Diana’s version of  Devonshire Bakery Potato Cakes, just like her Dad and Grandad used to make,  have a special place  on the breakfast menu.

MAYBE SOMETHING SPECIAL  

For those on a longer stay who may like a little  extra treat one morning.

A big breakfast bap with home-made tomato ketchup

Or something a little more delicate perhaps? Home-made bread with soft and creamy scrambled egg and smoked salmon.

LOCAL ARTISAN and HOME-MADE BREAD

Our locally sourced  Artisan bread is from Lovingly Artisan ‘bread with northern soul’.

Three generations of bakers are behind Diana’s love of bread-making and there’s nothing she loves better than nurturing a loaf of bread in to life in the kitchen at Tythebarn House.

DIANA’S PRESERVES

Made in Diana’s kitchen from home-grown or local fruit. These blackcurrants grow on our allotment and the mint is in our little courtyard garden. This year’s selection has included Gooseberry and Elder-flower, Blackcurrant and Mint, Rhubarb and Ginger, Plum and Bay leaf and the ever delicious  Just Strawberry.

Maybe you prefer a lighter and more leisurely start to your day.  ‘Breakfast on a Tray’ will be brought to your room at a time that suites.
